I like commas.
They add the perfect amount of drama
to any sentence.
Any paragraph.
Any line or limerick.

The perfect amount of punch.
The right dramatic pause.
Exactly the right quantity of
“hold it right there, mister…”.

I like commas because they aren’t obtrusive.
They don’t overextend their stay.
They come gently,
often at the right time,
right when you’re looking to take your next breath.

And with that dramatic, commatic pause,
you let out a deep, drawn-out sigh
of earthshaking relief.
